The Seaport will be participating at the Salmon Homecoming Celebration this Saturday Oct 1st at 11am-3pm at the Puyallup Fish Hatchery
On display in the museum we have over 800 uniquely designed coho salmon from 5th graders at Tacoma Public Schools.
This summer The Seaport hosted 4 days of day camps revolved around exploring all of the wonders our local waters have to offer!
For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, Seaport educators are boarding a boat with students to explore the science and maritime history of the Salish Sea. Seventh graders from several Tacoma Public Schools are coming with their science classes in the Spring of 2022 to explore the Seaport and sail on the Lady Washington! This exciting new partnership with the Lady Washington gives students the opportunity to understand how a historical ship would have worked in a way never possible before through Seaport programs.
Join the Education Department as they release the Coho salmon they have been raising for the past 5 months into Swan Creek! Community release event is on March 26th from 1-3pm.
