Watch our Coho salmon eggs hatch and grow! 500 eggs arrived at the Seaport on November 25th, 2024 from Voights Creek Hatchery, and you can monitor their progress with us via this live stream, which will be up and running until the salmon are released in the spring (please excuse interruptions due to power outages or technical difficulties).
These eggs are part of our Salmon in the Classroom program, in partnership with Pierce Conservation District and Tacoma Public Schools. In January, 29 schools in Tacoma will receive chum salmon eggs from Diru Creek Hatchery, which they will monitor, care for, and release in the spring!
Interested in visiting in-person to see these babies in real life? Come visit our museum Thursday-Sunday, 10am-4pm. Please check our website or social media for museum closures due to events, holidays, or weather.
