Brine Shrimp Life Cycle
Brine shrimp are both ovoviviparous (o·vo·vi·vip·a·rous) and oviparous. Ovoviviparous means that their eggs hatch within the uterus producing live young. Oviparous means they give birth to eggs which hatch outside of the body. Brine shrimp do not get to make this choice, as it is dependent on their environmental conditions. If the conditions are right

Kit Assembly Continues . . .
In the absence of corporate meetings, the education department has taken over our Bamford Chart Room to assemble science kits. Look at those stacks of cups! Over 18,000 holes have been hand punched in case students don’t have hole punches at home.

Equitable Science Kits for Fall 2020
Foss Waterway Seaport is excited to be supporting remote science learning this Fall. In the next few weeks, ready-to-assemble weather stations and a packet of printed instructions will be delivered to each middle school in the Tacoma Public School District. Eco-Kayaking on the Thea Foss Waterway
Our education programs continue to grow and expand. We have just completed the pilot of a new and innovative program that combines the teaching of on-water kayaking skills with environmental and scientific education.
