Although the museum has been closed to the public for over six months, crews have been hard at work behind the scenes enclosing a brand new working wooden boat shop, which is tentatively scheduled to open in January 2021.

Once completed, the new shop will have new days/hours of operation; opportunities to observe and admire a variety of boat building techniques; and a number of new programs, i.e. Saturday morning toy boat building classes (for children and their guardians), Boat Shop Heroes Program, etc. that will allow visitors of all ages to participate.

Everyone here at the Seaport shares the excitement and anticipation of the re-opening, and we thank you in advance for your patience and support during this time of change and transformation.
