Classroom/Meeting Space: Picturesque views of the working waterfront can be seen from our modern meeting room. Historically decorated with maritime artifacts, this room can accommodate up to 50 persons and features wireless internet service, conference tables, chairs, and serving tables. This space is ideal for meetings, small group gatherings, educational workshops, and catered business luncheons.
Main Exhibit Hall: Enjoy the extraordinary beauty of our historic Balfour Dock building with its dramatic bridge truss style ceilings soaring 55 feet above the exhibit hall floor and direct access to our beautiful esplanade. This grand room houses the majority of our maritime historical artifacts and exhibits, adding interesting, unique facets for guests to enjoy during events held in this adjustable space. Windows offer natural lighting and views of the active watefront area. Four hour minimum rental required.
Esplanade: This restored and upgraded outdoor esplanade spans the length of the Balfour Dock Building and provides up to 420 feet of social gathering space. Views of Commencement Bay, the Working Waterway, Mount Rainier, docks and floats, and a fascinating variety of marine traffic make this a great location for outdoor celebrations. Enjoy convenient access to guest moorage and the connecting Thea Foss Park and beach. Sound and activity restrictions may apply to events in this area.
Function Hall: This large, convention–sized space with its beautifully crafted ceiling, rustic details, and extraordinary historic character provides the perfect location for large or small events. This unique waterfront event venue (Tacoma's best–kept secret!) offers endless possibilities of configurations for weddings, concerts, conferences, dances, parties, trainings, receptions, fairs and festivals for up to 1,000 people. Four hour minimum rental required.
Front Lobby: Our front lobby is available for rental when other meeting or hall space is also rented. This additional space can be used for activities such as coat check; welcome, greeting and sign in station; or food and beverage service tables for your event.
Entire Facility: For very large gatherings and public events the entire Seaport facility can be rented. Staff assistance is required to customize the layout of spaces for your event.
Moorage: Access your event by boat: The Seaport offers 1,200 lineal feet of side–tie guest moorage at the best rates in town!

Deposit: A refundable cleaning deposit of $300 is required when food and/or alcohol is served at events for 25 or more people. (Additional fees may apply.)
Food/alcohol service: All food service must be handled by a licensed food services caterer. The Seaport requires contact with chosen catering service prior to the event. For events where alcohol is sold, the rentor must provide an appropriate Washington State Liquor Control Board liquor license and trained servers for the event.
