Classroom Field Trips to Tacoma's past!
|
We enjoy sharing the Museum with school groups. Our field trip focus is on grades 3-5, but this does not exclude younger or older visitors. We are happy to adjust the level of our tour to meet the needs of our audience! The Foss Waterway Seaport is located in the historic Balfour Dock Building, the last remaining intact section of a continuous heavy timber frame warehouse that defined Tacoma’s waterfront for almost a century. The 300-foot long wood structure was built in 1900 by the Northern Pacific Railroad. The building is an integral part of Tacoma's early waterfront history...a must see!
