AUDITIONS for "The Other Country," a play about the life of early Tacoma female entrepreneur Thea Foss, to be performed at the Foss Waterway Seaport on August 10-13, 2017, will be held on Friday, May 19, 6:30 to 9:30pm, and Saturday, May 20th, 10am to 1pm, at the University of Puget Sound, 1500 North Warner Street, Norton Clapp Theatre, in Jones Hall. Call backs will be on Sunday, May 21, 1-3pm, at the same location. We may not call back all who are ultimately cast.

We are seeking a diverse cast of actors and community members of varied experience and ethnic and racial backgrounds; 8-10 women of all ages, 8-10 men of all ages, and 3-4 children 8 years old and up. (The roles of Andrew and Thea Foss have already been cast.)

At Auditions: Please arrive at or near the start time on either date; you only need to attend once. We will be doing cold readings from the script. Please also be prepared to sing a simple folk, camp, or church song (16 bars or about 1 minute) and to do a little choral singing.  This is not a musical, but a play which includes instrumental and choral music.

Rehearsals: July 5th  through August 9th:  2-3 evenings and at least one weekend day each week, to be held in Norton Clapp Theatre, University of Puget Sound.

Performances:   August 10 and 11 (evening), August 12 (matinee and eve), and August 13 (matinee) at the Foss Waterway Seaport.
